Los Lonely Boys: Everyone's favorite Texican rockers, Los Lonely Boys, are back with a new album and nationally scheduled tour dates. These Latin rockers shot to fame in the mid-2000s with their super-hit, "Heaven", they scored a Grammy, and a multi-Platinum album. Known for their exhausting tour schedule, Los Lonely Boys tour dates are about the live experience and their extensive catalog of original material. Don't miss a date on the Los Lonely Boys tour schedule; Use Eventful as your source for Los Lonely Boys tour dates and venue information.

Brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza formed the band in Nashville during the 1990s. Their earlier sound was country-inspired and they self-released two albums in the '90s, Los Lonely Boys and Teenage Blues, before moving back to Texas. After consistent touring, Los Lonely Boys hit the studio in 2003 to produce what would become their breakthrough album. Their second self-titled album was recorded at Willie Nelson's Padernales recording studio in Austin. This album was self-produced and they originally released the disc independently. The album caught the attention of Epic Records who signed the band to a recording contract. Los Lonely Boys tour dates were scheduled extensively to promote the disc and they released their first commercially successful single, "Heaven".

The single was a massive success, it reached #1 on the Billboard AC charts and propelled sales of the album. In 2005, the single was nominated for, and won, the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The second single, "More Than Love", was also nominated for a Grammy in the same category in 2006. Los Lonely Boys tour dates had the rockers traversing the country and they became a touring sensation known for their lively stage presence. After releasing a cover of John Lennon's "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night" on Amnesty International's musical collabo project, Make Some Noise, the band hit the studio to record their next album. The disc, Forgiven, was released in 2008 where it debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, becoming their highest charting album to-date. After enjoying a sigh of relie having beaten the dreaded sophomore album curse of many acts, Los Lonely Boys toured the nation and performed a concert at the 2008 World Series in Florida.

Los Lonely Boys released an EP of covers entitled 1969, and hit the road for a national tour in 2009. They subsequently left Epic and signed with the independent Austin-based label, Playing in Traffic Records. Los Lonely Boys 2009-10 tour included nearly 200 concerts and was attended by more than 350,000 fans. Their fourth and most recent LP, Rockpango was released in March, 2011 and debuted at #70 on the Billboard 200. In addition to their studio album, Los Lonely Boys have released two live albums from their tour dates including Live at the Filmore and Live at Blue Cat Blues. As one of the greatest live acts in rock music today, Los Lonely Boys shows are characterized by syncretic soul and Latin Rock and their tour dates never disappoint. Jack Johnson: Jack Johnson's blissful acoustics and surf-rock vocals have captivated an audience beyond the beaches of southern California. Johnson has been a staple on the summer tour scene since releasing his debut album in 2001 and this year is no different. Jack Johnson tour dates are currently scheduled internationally in support of his most recent album, To The Sea.

Johnson hails from the Big Island of Hawaii and was a professional surfer by his teens. His brief surfing career included a Quicksilver sponsorship and an invitation to the Pipeline Master's that ended with 150 stitches and a few missing teeth. With his surf career on hold, Johnson enrolled at the University of California - Santa Barbara where he graduated with a degree in film. He met his soulmate and future wife while at college and she serves as the inspiration to many of his songs.

After befriending recording artist G. Love, Johnson headed to the studio and the two created the track "Rodeo Clowns" for G. Love's album Philadelphonic. Johnson also put his film degree to good use and co-directed the surf documentary Thicker Than Water in 2000. He then recorded a demo that made its way to producer, J. P. Plunier, who produced his debut album Brushfire Fairytales in 2001. The album was a platinum success and it featured his signature song "Flake". Jack Johnson's concert schedule included a national tour and a sold-out show at the Hollywood Bowl.

Johnson was quick to return with a follow-up, On and On, in 2003 which was recorded at his studio, The Mango Tree, in Hawaii. The album continued along with his acoustic-rock ready anthems and was another platinum hit. Johnson spent the rest of the decade recording and touring. He released In Between Dreams in 2005 which became his first #1 album on the Billboard 200 followed by Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George which also hit #1. Johnson's next album Sleep Through the Static reenlisted JP Plunier as producer and was recorded at a studio that used 100% solar energy. The album was released in 2008 and became his third #1 platinum album. Jack Johnson's concert schedule included a worldwide, and whirlwind tour, that played throughout the year. Live versions of his most popular songs were captured at certain Jack Johnson concert dates and were compiled for his first live album En Concert in 2009.

Jack Johnson released his latest hit album To the Sea in 2010 and it featured his biggest single to-date "You and Your Heart". Jack Johnson's concert schedule included another worldwide tour. This time around, all of the proceeds were to be donated to charity. While at a stop in Osaka, Japan in March, 2011; Johnson and his family were present during the deadly Tsunami that has crippled Japan. Johnson immediately donated $50,000 to the Tsunami Relief Fund and continues to generate awareness and donations for the families affected by the natural disaster. Johnson is an acoustic wunderkind, his infusion of fun melodies and social consciousness have made him not only a rockstar but a humanitarian. Jack Johnson tour dates are scheduled internationally throughout 2011. His live performances allow you to check out and leave your problems at the door, even if only for one awesome evening. Slightly Stoopid, Iration & J Boog

Slightly Stoopid: While it’s a rare commodity for a band to tour as consistently as Slightly Stoopid, the group’s diligent commitment to live music provides some insight into why it's been a few years since the release of their last studio album. But on August 14, 2012, the Ocean Beach, California-based group—led by co-founders and multi-instrumentalists Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald—will drop their latest studio effort, Top of the World. As heard throughout the disc, the layoff between albums has not affected the group's penchant for cooking up the tasty fusion and massive groove that permeates Stoopid’s trademark sound. "We're a touring act, and we've been on the road pretty much non-stop over the last decade," explains Doughty. "It really came into play on the release of the new record. Our last studio record [Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid] was about three and a half years ago. But with the band, we were starting families, we'd been on the road so much, we really didn't have time to sit down and focus on actually recording it."

Doughty also admits that the creation of the band's own recording studio and rehearsal clubhouse, within the warehouse district of Mission Valley (just inland of Ocean Beach), certainly aided the creation of Top of the World. "In the past two years, we started our own studio, which really enabled us to make the record at our own pace, and to make the right record for us at this time in our career,” Doughty continues. “What's nice about it is having our own environment to record in and analyze the music, and it really lets you keep an organic feel. For us, I feel like it's a step into the next level, as far as understanding the process of recording, understanding the process of songwriting. We took everything that we've learned over the years and really put it into this record.” Another key ingredient to what makes Top of the World so special is the inclusion of several musical guests. "It really kept that 'family atmosphere' for us,” says Doughty. “I think it really shows in the music—it flows. It's like one of those records that feels like it's one giant song. It keeps building and building. For us, we couldn't be happier. Top of the World speaks volumes as to where the band is today; just lyrically and musically, we're really happy with the direction." "We had G. Love, Angelo Moore from Fishbone, Don Carlos, Barrington Levy, Ian Neville from Dumpstaphunk, Tory Ruffin from Morris Day and the Time and Fishbone, and singer/songwriter Angela Hunte. We've been friends with G. Love for over 15 years, and we've been able to work together quite a few different times in the studio. It seems like second nature. Whenever you're recording with G., it's almost

like you're really just hanging out with your bro, and
you happen to hit record. We've done so many shows
together and so many studio sessions, it becomes second nature. Angelo Moore to me is one of the greatest frontmen to ever step foot on a stage. As a fan and out of respect, I try to do something with Angelo every time we have a record, really. If you listen to his lyrics, his vocal performance—I don't know who could keep up with Angelo on stage. Don Carlos from Black Uhuru is one of the legendary reggae singers of all time, and we've had the pleasure of working with him the last few years." Riffing on some of the album’s highlights, Doughty says "I really love 'Hiphoppablues,' the song G. Love did. I love the song 'Way You Move,' Ian Neville did a great guitar line throughout the whole song. We worked with Barrington Levy on 'Ur Love,’ he is a true architect of the dance hall! Definitely 'Ska Diddy' with Angelo—it’s a fun rant and shout out to a lot of the nooks and crannies we play across the country.” Besides recording at their own studio, Slightly Stoopid has always been extremely hands on when it comes to their career, going back more than a decade to when they founded their own record label, Stoopid Records. "We started Stoopid Records around 2000,” Doughty clarifies. “At that time, we were in transition as far as what we were doing with our records, and we thought it would be good to have
our own independent label—like Sublime showed us back in the day with Skunk Records. What's nice is we've had a following with the fans, where people understand that Stoopid Records is Slightly Stoopid and other bands we want to help break out." "For us, it was a big turning point, as far as having complete creative control over everything we do. That's something big for this band—we want to make the music for ourselves and for our fans. We don't really make music for someone in an office that tells us something needs to be there. We've always had a very organic, do-it-yourself attitude. I think it's paid off in dividends." In addition to the arrival of Top of the World, Slightly Stoopid should be very busy for the rest of 2012. "This summer, we're doing The Unity Tour with 311. That was really cool— those guys approached us about doing a tour with them. For the last five years, we've been headlining all the amphitheater tours, so it's kind of nice that we're going to co-headline with them. It's a good chance to not only play for our fans, but to play for 311 fans and show them the new direction of the new record. After the summer tour, we're going to do a fall tour and a winter tour, stay on the road as much as possible, promote the record, and keep making more music." Slightly Stoopid’s current line-up, featured on the Unity Tour 2012, consists of Doughty (guitar, bass, vocals) and McDonald (guitar, bass, vocals), along with Ryan “Rymo” Moran (drums), Oguer “OG” Ocon (congas, percussion, harp, vocals), C-Money (trumpet), Dela (saxophone) and Paul Wolstencroft (keyboards). Additionally, “unofficial 8th member” Karl Denson of Greyboy Allstars also lent his talents throughout Top of the World, and is joining the band on tour this summer. Nearly two decades into their ongoing metamorphosis, Slightly Stoopid continues to progress into new musical territory, defining their signature sound even further and creating a contagious feel-good vibe. An entire subculture has grown around the social statements the band makes with their music—and it’s been done entirely on their own terms. No wonder they feel like they're on Top of the World.

Iration: While Iration may be another band to come out of the Santa Barbara, CA community of Isla Vista, they have their roots firmly planted in Hawaii. Their tour dates uphold a tropical feel, with many people coming together in a spirit of peace and tranquility. Iration also separates themselves from other California reggae bands by their infusion of rock, pop, and ska into their music, giving it a unique and modern sound. This popular sound has led to a busy concert schedule in recent years, slowly building the band's popularity. Iration shows that mellow reggae music can have an upbeat edge to it; as evidenced in their newest EP, Fresh Grounds, and on their many tour dates in 2011.

Though the band was formed in Isla Vista, all members of Iration are originally from Hawaii and attended Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea. Like many bands starting out in the Santa Barbara area of California, Iration began playing backyard college parties and at local venues in the area. The band built a solid fan base as well as networked with other local bands, encouraging them to begin tour dates in college towns throughout northern and central California. Iration released their debut EP, New Roots, in 2006, boosting their fan base even further and providing a slight source of income while on the road. In 2007, the band headed to southern California to record their first full-length album, No Time For Rest, featuring tracks with reggae legend Mikey Dread shortly before his passing. The album's single, "Cookie Jar", was the first major hit for Iration as it began to hit airwaves as well as MTV's Hawaiian themed shows Maui Fever and Living Lahaina. It also brought Iration their first major tour dates with Pepper, and would lead to more productive concert schedules.

The success of Iration's first major album was followed up by an EP, titled Sample This. It featured two songs co-written by Hawaiian resident and Grammy Award-winning guitarist and producer Charles Brotman, as well as Iration's hit single "Falling". The single received even more radio time than "Cookie Jar" and Iration became the favorite with California stations like Santa Barbara's KJEE FM and San Diego's 91X. Iration began 2010 by joining The Expendables on the Winter Black Out Tour tour dates, shortly before the release of their LP, Time Bomb. The album debuted at the #2 spot on Billboard's reggae album chart and gained Iration tour dates on a national headlining concert schedule.

The band released their latest album, the EP Fresh Grounds, in early 2011. The success of the album spread the band's popularity beyond the West Coast, with tour dates on The Winter Greens Tour with fellow Isla Vista reggae band Rebelution. There are only a few more 2011 tour dates left on Iration's concert schedule, including appearances at the Wakarusa Festival, Lolapalooza, and the Eugene Celebration. With only a few more scheduled tour dates left in the year, fans should check Eventful soon for ticket info.
